The Cognition
System.

Luxury, as a service.

The visual language of a branded house run by one intelligence — luxury delivered as a service, held with restraint. An instrument, not an interface. Color, links, and mode are admin-managed, so the system flexes without a redeploy. Dark is the default; light is the maison in daylight.

Principles

The through-line for every choice
Register

Luxury as a service

The maison feel, delivered as software. Restraint reads as confidence — thin lines, deep space, nothing shouting, everything considered.

Hero

One mind

The cognition orb is the signature. Spend boldness there; keep everything around it quiet.

Form

Outlined, not filled

Structure by hairline and border. Fills are rare and earned; the default is an outline.

Chrome

Instrument

Mono labels, corner brackets, a scan line, a geo tag. The UI reads like a readout of a system that's thinking.

Control

Admin-managed color

One source of truth (settings.theme). Color, links, mode, and signals flex from the Back Office.

Honesty

No invented data

Figures are real or qualitative. Development-stage ventures are marked; nothing is dressed up.

Color

Cognition teal, resolved · click any swatch to copy

Cognition teal is the resolved brand accent — the brief Indigo experiment was reversed and teal made permanent. Neutrals are cool; hue is used sparingly and only where it carries meaning.

// brand accent
// neutrals (dark)
// light mode
// pillar accents — only where they carry meaning
// signal spectrum — the orb's network pulses (cool, multi-hue; unify to accent on hover)
// rules
Cognition teal is the primary accent; neutrals stay cool; hue only where it means something.
No violet / purple anywhere.
Platinum hairlines and generous negative space carry the structure.
No gold / brass as decoration — brass is reserved solely for a tiny “NEW” tag.
Outlined over filled; fills are rare and earned.
No warm pink-to-orange band (copper, coral, salmon, red) as brand color.

Typography

Verlag + IBM Plex Mono · no serif
// display typeface
Verlag
Hoefler & Co. · Jonathan Hoefler · geometric sans

Commissioned in 1995 for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum — a contemporary reply to Frank Lloyd Wright’s facade lettering — and released publicly in 2006. Museum-grade, architectural, restrained: the institutional register that “luxury as a service” asks for. Euclidean and monolinear, with a small lowercase and tall ascenders; five weights across three widths.

Licensed — not freely hostable. Load the H&Co webfont (cloud.typography / Monotype). Outfit is the open web fallback where Verlag isn’t licensed, so the system renders correctly either way.

Eyebrows always take the // prefix in IBM Plex Mono, letter-spaced and uppercase. Display and headings use Verlag at 500; body at 300 (Outfit is the web fallback). Mono carries every label, metric, and instrument readout. Numbered markers (01 / 02) are used only where content is a real sequence — as with these section indices.

The Cognition Orb

The signature · hover to unify the signals
COGNITION · ONLINE
Geometry
Icosahedral wireframe sphere with an inner sphere, a breathing neuron cloud, and node marks placed on the surface and wired by edges.
Signals
Pulses travel the edges as a cool multi-hue spectrum. On hover, every signal unifies to the brand accent — ambient traffic, then focus.
Motion
Slow rotation with cursor parallax, a gentle breathing scale, neuron swirl, and an additive atmosphere glow. Continuous, seamless, and stilled under reduced-motion.
Color
Structure follows the admin accent (teal by default). Built in Three.js; the hero of every top-level surface.

Outlined; mono label; hover fills to ~12% accent with a soft glow and shifts the arrow.

Links

Text links use the link token — footer contact and flagship labels included. Distinct from the accent so it can be tuned.

Brass appears here and nowhere else — the “New” tag is its only sanctioned use.

Motion

Orchestrated, ambient, reversible
Load

One sequence

Eyebrow, then the orb assembles, then the wordmark rises, then the gate. One orchestrated moment, not scattered effects.

Ambient

Always thinking

The orb never stops — rotation, breath, neuron swirl, traveling signals. Low amplitude, seamless loop.

Micro

Hover intent

Buttons fill and nudge; signals collapse to the accent on hover. Motion signals focus, not decoration.

Floor

Reduced motion

Everything holds a clean static frame when the reader asks for less. The system is legible at rest.

08

Visualization archetypes

One motion language per node type

Every ecosystem node renders one of eight motions in its vitrine and dossier — built only from real data, never fabricated numbers, always on the palette.

Appearance system

Admin-managed · read live by the landing

Color and links are not hardcoded. The Back Office Landing · Appearance tab writes two rows in Supabase settings; the public landing reads them on load and applies accent, link color, mode, orb color, and signal colors — no redeploy.

Voice

Plain, but never hollow
Register

Cool, exact

Short declaratives, concrete nouns. Say the true thing plainly enough that a curious reader follows — never filler, never hype.

Stance

One mind

The house speaks as a single intelligence reasoning across its houses. Name the house a question maps to.

Interface copy

Active, consistent

A control says what it does; the button that says “Publish” yields a toast that says “Published.” Errors direct, never apologize.

Discipline

Honest figures

Never invent numbers or returns. Development-stage ventures are marked as such; external market context is labelled as context.
